The relationship between mind and heart using the distinction between Moses and the Patriarchs. G-d's reply to Moses's complaint, that He was known to the Patriarchs by one Name but not by another, is interpreted as describing two modes of spiritual consciousness: the Patriarchs' heart-level and Moses's mind-level.
