Double Movement

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Sedra Bechukotai, 5733 (1973). The verse 'I will walk in your midst' describes a reciprocal movement: the human being walks in G-d's statutes, and G-d responds by walking together with Israel. The discourse explores this double movement as the highest level of Divine-human relationship, surpassing even the Temple itself, revealing that human spiritual effort calls forth a corresponding Divine descent.
