The Eternal Temple

Terumah | Exodus | 5743

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Parshat Terumah, 5743 (1983). The Sedra states 'They shall make for Me a Sanctuary and I will dwell in them', and the Midrash comments that whenever it says 'for Me' it means permanence. The discourse explores this through the Tzemach Tzedek, explaining that the heavenly Temple is permanent and joined to the earthly one, and that each individual Jew contains a 'small Sanctuary' which is also eternal.
