Vayedaber (Pinchas 5725)

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Parshat Pinchas, 5725 (1965). The Kabbalists teach that Pinchas was a reincarnation of Nadav and Avihu, who died when they brought strange fire into the Sanctuary. The discourse explains their sin as an expression of spiritual 'advance' without 'return', and how Pinchas's bold act of zealotry repaired this imbalance by combining both advance and return in a single deed.
