Between The Walls Of The Sea

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Sedra Beshalach, 5733 (1973). When the Jewish people crossed the sea, the water formed walls on their right and left, representing the merit of Torah (from above) and prayer (from below). The discourse explores how the two walls of the sea correspond to the two fundamental spiritual movements of the Jewish people, showing how both ascent and descent are necessary for complete Divine service.
