Joining Mind And Heart

Bo | Exodus, Shemos | 5744

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Sedra Bo, 5744 (1984). The Sedra states 'it was on that very day that the hosts of G-d went out from Egypt', yet another verse says it was a night of guarding, creating an apparent contradiction. The discourse resolves this by showing that the Exodus involved both daytime and nighttime dimensions, representing the joining of mind and heart, rational understanding and emotional experience, into a unified Divine service.
