The Power Of The King Within

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Parshat Pekudei, Purim, 5733 (1973). The Megillah verse describing Mordechai is explored through the Talmudic and Midrashic commentary on his forebears' names, all of which relate to the power of prayer. The discourse explains how prayer was the central spiritual force enabling the Jewish people's rescue from Haman's decree, and traces the ongoing battle of G-d and Amalek throughout history.
