This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Parshat Yitro, 5738 (1978). Beginning with the Bati leGani discourse, the Rebbe explains that the true indwelling of the Shechinah in the Sanctuary was greater than the revelation at Sinai, because the Sanctuary required human effort and therefore the Divine presence took up permanent residence within it. The discourse explores how the act of human effort and building creates a vessel for a deeper, more inward divine indwelling.
