Heels Of Messiah

Ekev | Deuteronomy, Devorim | 5727

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Sedra Ekev, 5727 (1967), and later published as a Kuntreis. The Sedra begins 'Since you will listen to these laws', using the word 'ekev' (heel) rather than 'if', which Chassidic teachings connect to the heels of the Messianic era. The discourse explains how even the seemingly lowly acts of Torah observance, like the heel that touches the earth, carry tremendous power to bring the Messiah.
